Task Force to ensure safety on roads during Easter festivities

A task force from the National Road Safety Commission, the Police and the DVLA has been constituted to ensure safety on roads during this Easter. 

The NRSC has also deployed personnel at major lorry parks and toll booths to educate drivers and passengers on road safety.
 
The Head of the National Road Safety Commission May Obiri-Yeboah, told Radio Ghana that with this concerted effort, the Commission expects to record fewer accident during this Easter as compared to last year.  

Madam Obiri Yeboah also reported an accident that occurred earlier today at Bonsu junction involving a truck load of tomatoes.

Meanwhile Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service Superintendent Cephas Arthur says the police is not resting as far as security of the nation is concerned during the Easter holidays.  

Speaking to Radio Ghana on security measures during the celebration of Easter, Mr. Cephas Authur said security personnel would be deployed throughout the country to maintain law and order. 

He mentioned highway patrols, churches, market places and wherever there would be any activity.
