Christians Observe Easter With Church Service Nationwide

Most churches in Tema were filled to capacity as Christians marked the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 

Clad in white apparel to mark his victory after death, they danced to melodious songs. 

At the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Grace Congregation at community eleven, praises and worship took centre stage when the Minister in Charge, Reverend Lawrence Tetteh announced to the congregation the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 

He said Christ's resurrection is a sign of his unflinching love to mankind. 

Reverend Tetteh said Christians must learn to live victorious lives because His resurrection gives hope to mankind. 

He said Christ rose from the dead to show that He is the everlasting son of God.

At Community One Presby church, Greenwich Meridian, the Minister in charge Rev. Nii Mensah Adjei who preached on the theme, Living The Resurrection Life said the resurrection of Jesus Christ gives  victory and a new hope  as Christians  have reconciled to God .  

He noted that to live victorious Christian life, Christians must love Christ in their hearts and try to do the right things at all times.

Rev Nii -Mensah  Adjei challenged Christians  to be transformed by renewing their  minds by encountering with Jesus Christ this Easter and offer their bodies as living sacrifices for God . 

The Head Pastor of the Fountain Gate Chapel, Golf City Branch, Ebenezer Acquah Harrison who preached on the theme 'Experience the Resurrection Power said Christians must learn to have faith in God. 

He said if Christ could rise from the death the third day, it means that with him everything is possible.

The Sunyani Area Head of the Church of Pentecost and Member of the Executive Council of the Church, Apostle Mark Obeng Andoh has called on Christians, especially and Ghanaians in general to use the power of the resurrection of Christ at Easter to correct the wrongs in Society.  

He was speaking to the GBC/GBC24 on the sidelines of the convention for four Districts of the Church in the Sunyani Area at the Coronation Park.  

The Convention which ends today is one of many that took place in the Bono-Ahafo Regional Capital as Christians the world over celebrate the resurrection of Christ.

Easter Sunday is usually characterized by Church Services, some of which form part of Conventions, that begun on Holy Thursday.  

This season is no different as Conventions are reaching their climax all over the Bono-Ahafo Regional Capital.  

At the Coronation Park, where four Church of Pentecost Districts are having their convention.  

The Sunyani Area Head, Apostle Mark Obeng Andoh urged Christians to use the Power of God occasioned by the resurrection of Christ to better their lives to support the new Government of Ghana implement is development agenda.

At the Wesley Methodist Cathedral the  Service was in full swing by the time GBC 24 got there.  

The Second Minister, Rev. Kwadwo Antwi Boateng also urged Christians to use the power of Easter to live lives devoid of negative tendencies that hold back the Countries development.

At the Nyamaa JHS where the Lord's Pentecostal Church International were having their Easter Sunday Service in one of the Classrooms, the Preacher, Rev. Philip Kwakye dwelt at length on the need to keep the physical environment pristine to facilitate the fulfillment of Scripture.

Radio Ghana’s correspondent in the Western region, Stephenson Nana Aggrey reports that this year's Easter festivities took a different dimensions, where churches mounted different kinds of platforms for crusades and revivals in the western region.

According to him most of the people also joined street carnivals with artist such as Kofi Kinata, Sarkordie, they change the atmosphere with their songs.

However, they were not surprise to see majority of the people joining them. 

When Kofi Kinata took over the stage a number of people who were going to the crusade also joined to cheer him up.

At the night for Jesus to resurrect there is a feast that is celebrated annually by the youth of Sekondi known as Yesu Asore, it is a very rough celebration where those who partake in this celebration can naked themselves or takes any alcoholic drink as much as he /she can.

At the Sekondi Circuit Wesley society of the Methodist church of Ghana the congregation dressed in white clothes to celebrate the resurrection of our lord Jesus Christ. 

The Bishop of the Sekondi diocese of the Methodist church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Daniel De-Graft Brace announced the church's readiness to wage crusade against illegal mining in the region.
