The Daily Graphic entreats all and sundry to join hands in the fight to end illegal mining popularly called galamsey. The paper says the menace is hurting the environment and so it behoves the country to find a permanent solution to it. The Graphic says the excuse that people turn to this illegal means to fend for themselves because they are not employed is simply untenable and must not be tolerated again.  The paper therefore lends support to government in its endeavour to deal with galamsey by naming, shaming and prosecuting galamsey operators.

The Ghanaian Times emphasises the need to intensify the road safety campaign. The paper says it is concerned that statistics from the police indicates that motor accidents are extremely high in the country. It is against this back drop that the Times joins the Minister of Roads and Highways and other road users to ensure that casualties are reduced to the barest minimum if not completely eliminated. The paper says many accidents can be avoided if drivers are a little careful and obey traffic regulations.

The Today Newspaper says violence and impunity must not be entertained at this stage of the country's development. The paper reminds the public after the recurrence of the ethnic disturbances at Agbogbloshie which was described as bloody to channel their grievances to the appropriate authorities and not resort to violence. It believes that peace and tranquility in the country will help immensely to move it forward.
