The Daily Graphic applauds President Akufo-Addo on his call for Ghana to think big and break away from dependency on aid and charity. The paper says the nation must take the call seriously because that is the surest path for economic transformation. It says Ghana cannot continue to make the same unpardonable mistakes after years of independence and thereby fail the next generation.  

The Ghanaian Times commends moves by government to organise a National Policy Summit beginning May 2017. The summit is meant for the Ministries, Departments and Agencies to engage stakeholders on government policies and programmes. The paper says Ghanaians are supposed to understand government policies and programmes which affect their lives. It is for this reason that the Times entreats government to make available its actions in terms of policies to the people on whose behalf it governs. 

The Daily Heritage appeals to Ghanaians to play a key role in fighting the canker of Global warming. It says by 2020, between 75 and 250 million people in Africa are projected to be exposed to increased water stress due to climate change. This, the paper says would result in the reduction of rain-fed agriculture by 50% which will go a long way to affect food security in many African countries. The Daily Heritage calls for a collective approach to control activities from the energy sector and industry that releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, deforestation and gradual habitation of sea banks that are having serious effects on the environment.
