Bank of Ghana records remarkable Gold Export The Bank of Ghana says gold exports went up significantly in 2016. This has positively affected trade balance for the year. The Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Johnson Asiamah, stated this when he led a team of Directors from the Bank to appear before the Public Accounts Committee where the Committee is considering the report of the Auditor-General on the Statement of Foreign Exchange Receipts and Payments of the Bank of Ghana for 2015. Meanwhile, the Bank of Ghana with support from GCNet is implementing a system that comprehensively monitors the export of gold and earnings from the export. Exporters who fail to go through the system and comply with the export rules will be sanctioned. The Assistant Director at the Banking Department of the Bank of Ghana, Eric Hammond stated this while responding to questions at the public hearing of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament. GBC
