Cash for Seat allegation Committee to begin Public hearing on January 11 The five-member Adhoc Committee set up by the Speaker of Parliament to probe the 'Cash for Seat' allegation will begin sitting on Thursday. Spokesperson for the Committee, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, told Radio Ghana that the sitting is to be made public to enhance transparency. The Minority in Parliament called for a public hearing of the Committee's sitting. Mr. Asamoah however said the decision by the Committee to sit in public is not to kowtow to the pressure by the Minority. The Speaker of Parliament set up the five-member bipartisan Committee to investigate the Cash for Seat allegation levelled against the Trade Ministry during the Expatriate Business Awards. According to the Minority, some businessmen were made to pay one hundred thousand dollars to get the opportunity to sit close to the President and also have one -on -one dinner with the President.
