Ensure ‘truckers’ comply with axle load rules - Ministry of Roads and Highways

The Ministry of Roads and Highways has issued a stern warning to its officials manning the Buipe and Yapei bridges to ensure that articulator trucks comply with axle load rules to maintain the strength of the bridges. 

The two bridges were closed following a directive from the sector Minister for routine maintenance. The bridges have since December 22 been opened. 

District Chief Executive for Gonja Central Mustapha Mahama, told GBC's Radio Ghana the Assembly has been conducting routine checks on the two bridges to ensure compliance.
