GIS reacts to public outcry over huge sale of application forms 

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) says it has no intention to cash-in on the ongoing recruitment process and has assured the public that every money collected during the process is well accounted for. 

This follows public outcry after more than 83 thousand online forms were sold at 50 cedis each to applicants when the Service can only absorb 500 recruits. 

A statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs of the Service, Supt. Michael Amoako Attah says revenue generated from the recruitment exercise was used to settle charges for hiring screening venues, examination halls, ambulances, provision of food and water for screening teams and applicants among others, in all ten regions. 

It adds that although the Service put out requirements such as age, height and period for the sale of the online forms, applicants who did not meet the basic requirements went ahead to purchase the forms. 

The Immigration Service said its desire is to give each eligible Ghanaian an equal and fair chance of applying and will use revenue generated from the recruitment process for its intended purpose.
