The Daily Graphic supports the call on MMDAs to suspend Assembly members who contest for political party positions. Although it is unconstitutional for an Assembly member of any district to hold political office or campaign for a political party, the practice is common in the country. According to the paper, the rationale behind it is to enable assembly members make decisions solely in the interest of their districts, without any political colour.

The Daily Heritage welcomes the decision by the West African Examination Council, WAEC, to move the WASSCE from February to April. The Heritage believes the period of preparation for WASSCE is key to the success of students, which according to the paper is inadequate. It says the ball is now in the court of the students to take advantage of the extension and make their parents proud.

The Independent raises concerns about the influx of synthetic agricultural inputs such as carcinogenic pesticides, which are illegal in many countries. These chemicals are used in the production of food which could cause cancer. It is in this vein that the Independent advocates collaboration between government and Apostle Kwadwo Safo and his technological and scientific innovations. This is because he has demonstrated on several occasions his ability to help the nation get rid of this problem.

The Today Newspaper commends the 10-year Cashew Development Plan launched by President Akufo-Addo. The aim of the Development Plan is to expand the present production of raw cashew nuts from 70,000 tons to 300,000 tons. It highlights the importance of the plan because agriculture is currently the country's leading agricultural non-traditional export, accounting for 197 million dollars of revenue in 2016.

The Ghanaian Times is of the belief that the country needs a paradigm shift to bring back the passion of local football that existed in the past. The paper is worried at how the UEFA Champions League takes center stage in the country, while local football is neglected.
