50 Human Resources Managers honoured in Accra

 
Fifty (50) Human Resources (HR) Managers from, both The Public and Private Sectors in Ghana have been recognized and awarded for their contributions toward nation building.   

The maiden edition of Ghana Top 50 HR Leaders; a celebration of fifty leading Human Resource practitioners who have made sterling contribution to the corporate sector over the years was… “unique award to celebrate outstanding accomplishments and  deepen interest in young fliers in the sector to be more purposeful and resilient.”

The Chief Executive Officer of Instinct Wave, The Organizers of the awards, Akin Naphtal at the dinner dance in honour of the awardees, saluted the winners for haven demonstrated excellence in delivering best practice and innovation in the HR Profession.

According to him, the role of HRs are equally important and they must be given the due recognition like others in any organization, “HR practitioner is as equal as any the other unit like The Finance, The Technologies and all that and going forward, we shall be promoting every act of HR.”

The Chief Executive Officer of The Fair Wages and salaries Commission and President of The Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners who received The Life-Time Achievement Award, Dr. Edward Kwapong used the occasion to challenge his colleagues HR Practitioners to launch a campaign targeted at Secondary Schools and teach them about career planning and career choices.

He believed the students need this to make the right choices, right from the Secondary School through the University to the world of Work,….stressing “the need to teach and encourage people to understand career planning from the lowest level in the organization to the highest level.

He called on the practitioners to embark on voluntary basis assignment by visiting Schools to speak to the children as HR Practitioners and encourage them to realize that career counseling is very important even at lowest level.

On The Ghana Top 50 HR presentation order list; Amma Beene-Amponsah, The Human Resource Executive at MTN came first followed by the Head of Human Resources, Ecobank, Daphne Oppong.

The Group Head Human Resources at Dannex/Aryton/Forewin occupied the third position while, Lawrence Osei-Kuffour with The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) went home with the Fourth position.

Head of Administration and HR of The Food and Drug Authority, Jones Ofosu took home the five position, Christable Amegayibor, Head of Human Resources at Africa World Airline Limited sixth and the seventh position went to the Human Resources Director at Vodafone Ghana, Hannah Asiokai Akrong.
