Christians Worldwide Commemorate Easter Today Christians the world over are today celebrating Easter or the Resurrection of Jesus Christ after he rose from the grave on the third day after his crucifixion. Most people are expected to be clad in white to signify the day. In a message, Rev. Father Blaise Attchie of the Catholic Business Technology Institute in Accra said the Resurrection of Jesus means Christians have been reborn and this must reflect in their character. He said if Christians should serve God faithfully, their hope of a better life in eternity is assured. Church auditoriums in most parts of the Ashanti region were filled to their full capacity today as Christians commemorated the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the death after his crucifixion. The congregants, both young and old, were adorned in either all white or predominantly white apparel to signify victory brought to mankind through Christ’s defeat of over Death. At the Divine Peniel Chapel Worldwide at New Tafo in the Tafo Municipality of Ashanti, as at 10 am when Radio Ghana's Nicholas Osei-Wusu arrived there, the congregation was in a prayer mood thanking God for the Risen Christ and the newness of life while reconciling them to himself. They prayed again for all candidates preparing for this year’s Basic Education and West African Secondary School Examinations as well as for private businesses in the country. Led by the Head Founder and General Overseer, Reverend Benson Gyamfi, the congregation used also the occasion to take Communion which Jesus commanded his Disciples to do in his Remembrance. In an interview, Rev. Gyamfi asked Christians to take advantage of the occasion to sanctify themselves and walk in the newness of life. At Ahinsan in the Asokwa Municipality, the Grace Bible Church was agog in praises as it used the resurrection day to end its Annual National Grace Conference attended by members from 11 branches across the country on the theme: “God’s Secrete Purpose Revealed.” The Founder, Rev. Dr. Adjei Annor, explained that the Conference was used as a platform to reveal God’s main purpose for bringing the gentiles closer to himself following the rejection of Jesus Christ by the Israelites. The atmosphere at the Caravan of Prayer Outreach Church at Gyinyase as at 11.45 am was a combination of Worship and Praises by the congregation all in appreciation of the victory of Christ over death and Satan. The Founder and General Overseer, Apostle Johnson Ackah Braimah, entreated Christians anywhere including those in circular places of work to lead lives worthy of Christ so as to encourage non-believers to also draw closer to God.
