The Daily Graphic highlights the contribution of rail transport to the global economy. The paper says so much importance has been ascribed to rail transport that it cannot be taken out of the development plans of any economy. According to the paper, Ghana has been oblivious to the important role a rail network plays in an economy. The Graphic is worried about news that more than one year after the inauguration of the Sekondi-Takoradi train shuttle, the Ghana Railway Company is yet to break even, as a result of low patronage of the service by commuters. The Paper believes rail transport holds the trump card to our economic development and the country should do the right thing to rake in revenue from the industry. 

The Ghanaian Times is delighted at the reforms and initiatives being introduced to broaden the tax net to increase revenue generation to finance development projects, the country needs to improve the well-being of the people. According to the Ghana Revenue Authority the TIN will broaden the tax net to capture all potential taxpayers and empower the revenue authorities to monitor transactions entered into by a taxpayer. The paper also believes that the act of paying tax requires leadership by example, so tax administrators and policy makers must manage tax resources well and be more accountable to the citizenry.
 
The Daily Heritage says government's effort to make Ghana one of the cleanest cities in Africa cannot be realised if Ghanaians still engage in open defecation, particularly along the beaches and other important areas in the country. The paper says, if this canker is not addressed, it has the potential of damaging all the beautiful plans that will be put in place by government to fight filth in the system.
