The Ranking Member of Youth, Sports and Culture Committee in Parliament and Member of Parliament South Tongu, Kobena Mensah Woyome, has charged the government to investigate the alleged fraudulent acquisition of Australian visas by some Ghanaians to the Commonwealth games. According to him, the purported act has brought unnecessary disgrace and shame to the Country, adding that, “we also sympathize with the victims who have been traumatized as a result.” In a statement signed in Accra on behalf of the Minority group in Parliament, Mr. Woyome notes “… we the Minority in Parliament are of the view that due to embarrassment the incident has brought to the entire nation, a full scale independent investigation is carried out to establish the extent of fraud and identify personalities involved to forestall future occurrences.
