Stop constructing make shift structures to house final year students - NGO tells GES

Foundation of Generational Thinkers, a Youth Empowerment NGO is calling on the Ghana Education Service and stakeholders in education to help halt the construction of make shift structures in some private schools to house final year JHS students.  

It says a survey it carried out in parts of Accra revealed that the schools put up these illegal structures under the guise of preparing final year students for their Basic Education Certificate Examination, BECE.

The NGO noted that such structures are not proper for academic work and can expose students, particularly the females to teenage pregnancy. 

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, the President of the Foundation of Generational Thinkers, Prosper Afetsi asked quasi government bodies to immediately take steps to curtail the phenomenon to prevent the negative impact on the Youth.
